Missive - Editing Shadows (00:00 - 00:00)

Missive - Editing Shadows

Missive will release the debut record of Sei A, one of two monikers utilized by Glasgow-based producer Andrew Graham, early next year.

Graham, who has made his name on a variety of labels, including his own
Seinan Music imprint, will bring his debut long-player to France's
Missive. The record, entitled Editing Shadows
will follow in the vein of his previous 12-inches, crafting a vibe that
"marr[ies] the dark side of house music with a warmth and soulfulness
that oozes out of every track." Or at least that's what the press notes
say. We're not sure which side of that divide Graham's whispered vocals
which color much of the album lies upon, but Sara Pickin's contribution
to "Ether" certainly does add a bit of sweetness and light to the
proceedings. With the album set to be released in a matter of months,
you'll soon be able to judge for yourself.

Birdy Nam Nam - Manual For A Successful Rioting (00:00 - 00:00)

Birdy Nam Nam - Manual For A Successful Rioting

Label: Jive

Birdy Nam Nam revient !

Quand on écoute leur dernier morceau, Manual For A Successful Rioting,

Kompakt - Studio 1 (00:00 - 00:00)

Kompakt - Studio 1

Label: Kompakt

Kompakt head Wolfgang Voigt will bow to popular demand next year and reissue Studio 1 on CD.

Hot on the heels of the recent Gas reissue,
Voigt is clearly feeling as though the time is ripe to reassess his mid
'90s work. This time, it's his Studio 1 project, which is often
credited as "the root and origin of German minimal techno." At the time
of their release, the records were celebrated as much for their music
as for their mystery: Each record was untitled, only differentiated
from the rest of the series by its color. The reissue here is CD-only
and doesn't offer any new tracks, but considering it's been a decade
since it's been in print in any format, we'll gladly take what we can
get.

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion (00:00 - 00:00)

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion

The Brooklyn-based indie quartet Animal Collective will release their ninth studio album, Merriweather Post Pavilion, early next year.

The group, whose love affair with the minimal techno reached new heights last year when they invited Pantha Du Prince
to remix a track, has barely done more than announce the record, but RA
scribe Andy Beta has had the good fortune to have heard the record and
reported on his blog
that the record made him ask whether the band had "been hanging out in
Berlin techno clubs on tour" and sounded as though the group had "just
discovered Ecstasy." For a quartet that already sounded as if they
might be taking some of the best drugs in the world, we can only be
excited about the possibilities inherent in that statement. Judging by
its triptastic cover art alone, we should be in for an exciting ride.

Tracklist

01. In The Flowers

02. My Girls

03. Also Frightened

04. Summertime Clothes

05. Daily Routine

06. Bluish

07. Guys Eyes

Minilogue & Decay's IMPS - IMPS Remixed (00:00 - 00:00)

 Minilogue & Decay's IMPS - IMPS Remixed

Minilogue and Decay's IMPS project will release a remix LP of tracks from their Bring Out The Imps album.

The original album from earlier this year was a collaboration between
the Swedish techno producers and Decay, a multi-instrumentalist duo
from Australia. The remix CD, simply titled Remixed, features a wide-ranging selection of remixes from Move D, Thomas Fehlmann, Isolee, Jan Jelinek and more. Minilogue also provide their own remix of "Uncle Limps," which came out as a single on Mule Electronic earlier this year.

02. Get a Grip (Strategy Remix)

03. Almost Live But Definitely Plugged (Move D Remix)

08. Your Every Idol

09. You Are the Worst Thing in the World

10. Immolate Yourself

Telefon Tel Aviv will release their third album, Immolate Yourself, early in 2009 on BPitch Control.

After many years of recording for Chicago indie stalwart Hefty Records,
Telefon Tel Aviv have jumped ship to BPitch Control for their latest
effort, perhaps in a nod to the friendship forged when one-half of the
group helped in the production of Apparat's Walls.
Or perhaps they just like what the group is calling a new direction: "
Gone are all of the high-definition micro-edit minutiae in favor of a
new approach to texture for us - long form."

While we're not sure exactly what that means, if the recent remixes by
the duo are any indication, you can expect a lush album with pop
ambitions. That and "tape loops of church music" apparently.
